Topic: Women Dealing With Physical and
Emotional Trauma
And How They Can Recover
Presenter: Debbie Peacock
The April talk will
concentrate on women and trauma … deep traumas such as rape, murder,
kidnapping, attempted murder and child molestation. In cases of severe trauma,
physical scars heal but emotional scars often remain and cause problems in many
areas like family, personal and sexual relationships. Debbie will begin with a relaxation for the
audience to reinforce the importance of relaxation therapy. She will also talk
about the importance of the pre-talk and how really listening to the client can
influence your choice of hypnosis techniques. She will discuss how anger,
low self esteem, fear and sexual issues due to trauma from molestation and
other violent experiences can be healed and the women can once again regain
their personal power. One of Debbie’s clients will be participating in these
demonstrations. We welcome her and thank her for her bravery. Questions are
welcomed.
Deborah Peacock’s practice,
“Debbie’s Place”, work mainly with women and woman's issues. She has focused
her work for seventeen years teaching and counseling women and with women's groups.
Debbie is a graduate of Arizona State University with a degree in
Communications and trained in hypnosis about eight years ago. She is one of our
own members at the Arizona Society For Professional Hypnotists as well as a
member of the National Guild of Hypnotists and the Hypnotists Union. Debbie is
also a Reiki Master.

March 2, 2009
President, Robert J. O’Connor
called the meeting to order at 7 PM. Everyone introduced themselves and shared why
they attended the meeting. Susan Poznanski informed us that one of our members,
Rose McNicol, was ill. Robert also
informed us that another member, Eileen Soland, could also use our support. We
discussed the fact that we, as a group, should feel free to reach out to our members
in need, and asked that we be informed of what we can do to support our
members.
Greg Nielson, our vice
president, was a speaker for the evening. His topic was The Care and Feeding of
a Hypnosis Practice. Greg did a phenomenal power point presentation that walked
us through beginning our practices, from getting our education through getting
and bringing back our clients. He gave us a list of 10 things that decide the
success of our practice:
Greg went on to discuss our
marketing. One of the things he stressed the most was that we are NOT selling
hypnosis, but the BENEFITS it provides. This is very important to remember when
preparing our marketing materials.
This was a great presentation
for the newbies and the seasoned practitioner. It gave us all some insight into
newer marketing ideas and things we may have forgotten in doing business daily.
Greg also announced that at
our recent Board meeting, we decided to produce some general brochures showing
the benefits of hypnosis and directing the reader to the ASPH website for
member referrals. These should be ready in the next couple of months. They will
be a great way to get hypnosis in the forefront at health fairs, sporting
events etc.
Following the presentation,
members announced their upcoming events. The meeting was adjourned at 9 PM.
Respectfully submitted,
Debbie Gent, ASPH Secretary
