‘Unlock Your Power Within!’- Sam Meranto

Pioneer Hypnotherapist (Tuesday, February 2, 2010 Meeting)

For Sam, ‘the impossible is only the start...’

ASPH is privileged to welcome world-renowned Hypnotherapist

Sam Meranto, CHt as its February 2, 2010 presenter.

Sam will share with us some of his amazing pioneering stories as a Hypnotherapist.

From Sam's website (www.sammeranto.com):

Sam was in a tornado in 1953 in Worcester, MA. where ninety people died where he was standing. Sam feels that God spared his life to do the work he is doing today. He is the most effective therapist in the world according to his clients. Famous movie actors, sports player, executives, and people like you come for one on one personal help from Sam. He spends a half a day with each person and finds out exactly what they need. Some of his clients have been to Mayo Clinic, Scripts Diagnostic, and UCLA just to mention a few. Most of his clients were told that Medical Science has done all that it can for them. They came to Sam as a last resort. Sam helped them get positive miraculous results. He is an ordained minister and believes in the laying of hands and the power of spiritual meditation.

Sam Meranto was born November 3, 1931 in Niagara Falls, NY. He is a father of six children. He has been married to Cynthia for 28 years. She has worked along side him in the office since 1976. We have a total of 8 people that work in the main office in Phoenix. We are right near the Phoenix Airport. Some people fly in from all parts of the world, Canada, China, Japan, and India just to name a few. And we have a 7 acre retreat center in Chino Valley, near Prescott, Arizona.

If you are in Arizona or visiting, come in to our Phoenix office for a free session and free consultation, with no obligation. (Tel. 602-957-4669)

“If you would like extra help for weight loss, anorexia, bulimia, depression, pain, addictions, sex problems, shyness, or motivation, fill out the Lifestyle Analysis and send it to Phoenix through the mail or bring it in personally. We then analyze it and pin point the areas you need help. We select eight hours of audio sessions on about 10 different recordings selected from our library of over 1500 prerecorded sessions that help you with your special needs and desires. You will get the cost and information with the Lifestyle Analysis. Make sure you try the stress session first to get an idea how powerful this program is.”

Meeting Minutes

January 5, 2010

Minutes from the January 5, 2010 ASPH Meeting

Robert called the meeting to order at 7:10. He introduced the officers, followed by attendees introducing themselves around the room. Robert discussed how ASPH has changed and evolved over the years, and stressed that we now have a very strong nucleus which will allow us to build throughout this year.

He then introduced our speaker for the evening, Sandi Graves.

Sandi has only been a hypnotherapist for a relatively short time, but in that time she has already built a thriving practice and a strong following. She has an amazing amount of energy, and a very positive attitude. These two qualities combined have given her an abundant amount of ideas for marketing a practice, which she openly shared with the group. Sandi presented us with lists of ideas she had put together on large flip charts, and also asked for the group to brainstorm on any other additions. Though they are too numerous to list all of them here, a few ideas included: flyers or cards at a convenience  store, health food store, or car wash; giving a free seminar; sending a press release to local newspapers, advertising in Valu-Pak, or other bulk mailers; and personally circulating and networking through local expos, events, and possibly charities.

Robert mentioned the reason most hypnotherapists fail in their first year is because no-one knows what they do. It’s important to let everyone know about your practice, to be proud of it as if you were a proud parent talking about your children. Sandi suggested always having a small flyer or pamphlet handy, or at the very least, a business card you could hand out. Printing them yourself is becoming much easier now, or there are many low cost printing shops available, such as Vista Print. They are also able to print up posters, signs, and banners for table or window displays.

Another way to get the word out is to offer to speak at service clubs (Lions, Optimists, etc.), and find ways to serve the community. Sandi related a story of starting her practice in Globe. By coincidence, she was just starting about the same time a severe fire tore through that community. She offered her hypnotherapy services to displaced families and individuals in area shelters, and helped with sleep challenges, stress reduction, etc. In a matter of days she was much better known throughout the community, and had set herself up as a valuable resource in the area.

Dr. Sam Sterk related that he is now contacting independent living centers for senior citizens and speaking to the activity directors in order to give talks on such things as relieving chronic pain, sleep disorders / insomnia, and relationship issues which may affect seniors – spousal relationships, and relationships with family members. Robert also added that in marketing to other professionals (doctors, chiropractors, naturopaths, etc.); always go with the idea of providing service to their business, not looking for work from them. Offer to pass out their cards, to offer their services as a referral, to be complementary to the service they perform. He also mentioned an activity he’s found useful in the past, which is to attend various seminars, exhibitions, or events and introduce yourself to attendees as well as professionals at the event. He offered a website that lists all of the events being held in Arizona as a great reference guide, this is the link to that site: www.arizonaguide.com/events-calendar . As a side note, Dr. Sterk also mentioned a service he works with called SEND OUT CARDS, which allows you to create and send cards to your clients directly through a computer for a fraction of what it would cost through a retail store. Contact Dr. Sterk, at 480-767-0956 for more information.

Sandi also discussed the importance of websites, and having your own site to promote your business. Because the internet has become the main source for business, shopping, and consumer research in our daily lives, a website has become an essential part of any marketing strategy. Sandi’s son, Davis has designed a basic website for hypnotherapists, which may then be easily individualized for your specific business. To see it, go to www.KissHypnosisScripts.com , which has been created in partnership with Don Rice, and on the left you will see a button labeled “Website Creator,” which will give more information. They will be offering the website development (one page website with domain name) only to ASPH members for $250, for a limited time only, and for the general public at $550. That is a tremendous discount to ASPH members! Sandi then closed her presentation by offering a prize to one person in the group for a free hypnosis script from the new website. This was a very valuable presentation, and offered an opportunity for much discussion and sharing of ideas within the group.

The meeting was adjourned at 9PM.

A Thank You from Carol…

Dear ASPH Members,

I was greatly touched by the lovely gift that you sent to  me—a $50.00 gift certificate to Chompie’s Restaurant… or shall I say, $50.00 worth of chopped liver and matzoh ball soup!!! I love Chompie’s Restaurant and I also love being the “glue that holds it all together” as the gift card stated!

It is my pleasure to serve you as Statutory agent and “fill-in” whenever services are temporarily needed. I’m reminded of  a man who served as the “substitute everything” at my Rochester NY synagogue during my childhood years. He was not a rabbi; he was not a teacher and he was not a businessman.  I think he must have been retired; maybe he had a profession at one time, but I never knew what it was, except that “he was always there,” and did everything from deliver the sermons when the rabbi was called away , say the blessings over the Torah and Haftorah when no one else was around to do it, teach Sunday School classes when teaches called in with an emergency at the last moment… and I think he even did some of the janitorial work!! (Believe me, I am not asking to do ASPH janatorial work!!).

This man was the glue that held everything together. I’m happy to be your glue. As you know, although I am a certified hypnotherapist with 7 years of training, I don’t have a professional hypnotherapy practice. I do have another profession, however—a writing, editing and publishing business—which  lends itself well to helping out with clerical, administrative and secretarial work when necessary.

Here’s to a wonderful new year with lots of chopped liver!!!

Love,

Carol Adler, CHt

ASPH Statutory Agent & Parliamentarian

Chopped Liver Custodian

P.S. I have a new book coming out; I’ll bring copies to the meeting as soon as it’s ready. Its title is:

Do You Really Need To Write A Book? Tips & Techniques for Writing, Publishing, Marketing & Promoting Your Book!

I have a Hypnosis/Therapist office available to share if any of your members are interested. (I used to be one of your members but not currently). I use it part-time evenings and weekends for hypnosis. It is totally available during week days and we can work out a schedule if they need it some evenings or weekends. It is located on Chandler Blvd between Dobson and Alma School in Chandler. There is plenty of parking and it is well lit at night. There is also a client waiting area. It currently is furnished with a recliner and desk. Their rent would be $115.00 per month which includes utilities. If anyone is interested, please have them call me.

Thanks,  Gary
